COVID Protocol Statement

Your leadership at Greenville Oaks is continuing to monitor the rising numbers of new COVID cases, the latest health guidelines, and best practices for churches.  Greenville Oaks also remains deeply committed to the vitality and importance of our community being together, both in-person and online.  As a result, we will maintain what we believe to be reasonable steps that foster both the life of the church and the health of the community.  This focus for both church life and health will guide what we hope are appropriate measures for the good of us all.

We are monitoring and will adjust our practices, when necessary, to further these important goals and will keep our entire community of faith updated. Thank you so much for your continued patience, support, and prayers as we are ALL on this journey together!

  • As always, if you are not feeling well, are having any symptoms, or test positive for COVID, we ask that you stay home and join us online for worship. If you have been exposed to someone with COVID, please follow the updated CDC Guidelines to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone within our church family. As always, Greenville Oaks will remain committed to vibrant, engaging worship and teaching online for our entire community of faith. Greenville Oaks will remain committed to vibrant, engaging worship and teaching online for our entire community of faith.

COVID Policy Change

After reflecting on the latest CDC guidelines, Greenville Oaks is accelerating our change to a “masks optional” approach. Beginning this Sunday, May 23, masks will be optional in our building.

In order to provide a more controlled environment preferred by some, the two rooms at the back of the Worship Center will remain “masks required” and signs will be posted accordingly. Also, the center sections of the Worship Center will remain socially distanced for now.

Your patience as we adjust our practices with the realities of the pandemic is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your support. We are thankful to God for his continued healing, provision and care in this difficult time.

Warmest Regards In Him,

Greg Coffman

Health & Safety Protocol Statement

After much discernment, the Greenville Oaks Elders have decided that our current mask “required” policy will become masks “optional” in our worship services, beginning June 6.

We understand that many of us would like to see this change happen immediately; however, to accommodate some very special church-wide family events during the month of May, we will postpone the implementation of the mask policy change until the first Sunday in June. We look forward to welcoming more members, guests, friends, and family to these very special events during the month of May:

  • Mother’s Day - May 9
  • High School Senior Sunday - May 16
  • Family Dedication - May 30

We believe that striving to keep our gathering environment as safe as possible for these special events will enable more people, who are still being cautious regarding COVID, to feel as comfortable as possible when attending. It is exciting to continue to see more of our members, as well as new guests, feel comfortable to join us for in-person worship. We anticipate that more of our families with young children will participate, especially in the Family Dedication event, with the mandatory mask protocol remaining in place. (In fact, we have received several requests to keep our mask protocol in place so their families can participate in Family Dedication).

Thank you all for your continued patience during this unprecedented time of transition. Your support is greatly appreciated!!

Also, we are very excited to share that plans are being made to offer adult Bible classes once again on Sunday mornings, beginning in mid-June. The details of these plans will be announced once they are finalized, but we wanted to let everyone know that this is coming soon.

Warmest Regards In Him,

Greg Coffman

Health & Safety Protocol Statement

Following Governor Abbott’s lifting the Texas mask mandate last week, our leadership has been monitoring the response of a variety of organizations including medical practices, school systems, and reviewing the information and guidance provided by local government agencies, especially the Allen Fire Department.

For the time being, Greenville Oaks has decided to keep the current mask protocol in place.

There is much encouraging news regarding the progress against the COVID virus, and we are grateful:

  • COVID infections are trending down across the state.
  • Allen has the lowest infection rate of the five largest communities in Collin County.
  • Vaccination rates are trending upward in our community.
  • Hospitalizations in Collin County continue to decline.

Even with this progress, Allen is still experiencing infection rates and hospitalizations above what was recorded for last September.

Because we want to continue to contribute to the progress and keep our environment as safe as is practical, we believe it is most prudent to keep our current mask protocols in place for the immediate future.

We look with great desire and anticipation to the time we can all worship together without major restrictions. We will continually monitor progress, evaluate this approach, and will relax restrictions as soon as we believe it to be prudent.

Thank you for your patience and contributions to the safety of Greenville Oaks, Allen, and Collin County. May God continue to intervene in the elimination of this virus!
