Gathering Circles

At Greenville Oaks, we believe that circles are better than rows because they allow us to develop relationships with each other. That is why we have The Gathering (the time between our two worship times) at 10:00 a.m. During The Gathering, everyone is encouraged to participate in a Gathering Circle (small group). Gathering Circles will allow you to have conversations with others and begin to develop relationships with them.

There is a Gathering Circle for everyone – whether you are interested in a biblical study, engaging conversation, coffee, or just spending some one-on-one time with someone else. There are Gathering Circles for adults, students, and children.

Handouts are available at campus entrances of all Gathering Circle locations.

CONNECT AND DISCIPLESHIP GROUPS

CONNECT GROUPS

The most common way we Do Life Together is through Connect Groups. Group participants, both Greenville Oaks members and others, often share similar life stages or common interests and care for one another, encouraging spiritual growth and discipleship with one another.

Connect Groups meet together, most often in homes, for a time of discussion-based Bible study, sharing concerns and blessings with one another, and praying together. They spend time serving others in our community but emphasize the sharing of life situations and needs so they truly know and care for one another.

DISCIPLESHIP GROUPS

At Greenville Oaks, we are convinced that following Jesus is much more than simply attending church services and leading a good moral life. When Jesus promised his followers the abundant life, he was talking about something that involved substantial transformation of who we are and how we think.

Just as the disciples of Jesus experienced this transformation and were excited to share the experience with others, so we believe that, as his disciples today, he intends the same for us. This journey of discipleship changes us and molds us into disciples who make other disciples. We call this process the discipleship pathway.

HOPE AT GREENVILLE OAKS

Life is hard. Jesus tells us plainly that in this life we will have trouble. Troubles can relentlessly threaten our well-being and the well-being of those we love. Disappointments, illness, loss and trauma can have long-lasting negative impacts.

HOPE is a growth group that combines spiritual truths with positive mental health practices to help members manage the challenges in life. Past and present members have found in HOPE a space to heal and find personal, relational and spiritual growth.

HOPE is structured so that new people can begin at any gathering and remain in the group for the duration of their healing process.
