“Save us”

As Jesus rode into Jerusalem for the final time, the people who shouted "Hosanna" (which means "Save us!") had no idea what the week would hold. Yet, they were well aware of their need to be saved. They wanted to be saved from the Romans and they thought Jesus might just be the one who could pull it off.

They waved their palm branches and shouted their "Hosannas" desiring salvation and liberation. On Palm Sunday, we invite you to do the do the same. We'll cry out to God to save us.

Like those early followers of Jesus, we may not know what the week ahead will hold, but we'll begin where they began. Praising Jesus together!

The Crucifixion was over. The tomb was sealed. Why? What happened next?

We invite you for a special service of contemplation and lament as we explore what Jesus' family and friends must have experienced on that dark Sabbath eve.

We will gather at sunset for this night of worship. There will also be a focused time to allow those who have lost loved ones this past year to honor their memory in a candle lighting ceremony.

* Due to the solemn and deep nature of this service, we urge parents to be sensitive to their children' ability to process the events when deciding their attendance.

Nearly 2,000 years ago, Jesus of Nazareth was put to death on a cross. His death is a historical event. The political and religious authorities assumed that putting Jesus to death would be the end of their problems. They thought, "Surely the tomb would result in the end of Jesus' and the growth of his kingdom."

What they didn't know was that Jesus' death planted a seed that would grow into a new movement that would change everything in our world. The resurrection of Jesus broke every rule we take for granted in our world. He not only broke out of the tomb. He defeated death forever.

We invite you to come and celebrate that event with us as we worship Jesus and celebrate his resurrection.

Also on Easter Sunday, Greenville Oaks is bringing the Easter Story to life for children with “Walk with Jesus”. Our elementary children will journey through Jesus’ last days on earth and will follow His footsteps in a multi-sensory adventure that leads to the miraculous resurrection and celebration that Jesus is alive!

Children will travel to Jerusalem for Palm Sunday, join Jesus and the 12 apostles for the Last Supper, pray in the Garden of Gethsemane, discover the sacrifice of Good Friday and celebrate the Resurrection that happened on the first Easter

Our preschool children will experience the excitement of a parade for Jesus followed by a petting zoo of baby animals just their size.

Your children are invited to an event kids will never forget. The adventures begin at the 9:30 am service and again at the 11:00 am service. The petting zoo will be open to all from 9:00-10:00 am and from 10:30- 11:30 am.
