The Student Ministry is dependent upon the commitment of mature and Godly adults who will build and nurture spiritual relationships with teenagers. These spiritual relationships are the foundation for our ministry because they foster growth in our students. Our volunteers come in all ages and life stages, and have diverse life experiences. Some are gifted in teaching, some in hospitality, some in encouraging, and others in general goofiness. The thing all of our volunteers have in common is that they are striving to grow into the image of Christ, and want to bring teenagers alongside them.
We strive for each of our students to have five mentoring relationships in their lives with caring adults (outside of their parents). The reality is that students will open up to someone else about something significant in lives more quickly and more often than they would their parents. In order to accomplish this, we value and depend on our volunteers greatly, especially our small group leaders.
