A: You can schedule a meeting with a Minister or elder to get answers to your questions or concerns. Call 972-727-2359.

Q:  What do you teach about baptism? Would I have to be baptized again in order to be a member here?

A: Baptism is a "promise made to God from a good conscience" (I Pet 3:21 TEV). We urge all believers to be baptized (immersed in water) as an outward expression of their inward commitment to place all of their trust in Jesus and to belong completely to him. Those who have already been baptized as a response of their faith in Jesus before coming to Greenville Oaks do not need to be baptized again. For those who are not, we would consider it a privilege to be a part of this important step. You can learn more by attending Discovering Greenville Oaks.

Q: What can I do to keep from being lost in the crowd?#mce_temp_url#

A: The best solution is to join one of our small groups. Participation in a Sunday Adult Bible class and serving on a ministry team are additional ways to connect, grow and serve in meaningful community.

Q: Can non-members attend Bible classes and small groups?

A: Most definitely. Here are all the Bible classes and small groups (login required).

top

Q: Can I participate in the communion service even though I am not a member?

A: Yes. Anyone who is a committed believer in Jesus can join us in celebrating communion.

top

Q:  Do you have instrumental accompaniment during your worship service?

A: No. Both of our Sunday morning worship services use a cappella (non-instrumental) music. The use of instrumental accompaniment is not a doctrinal issue at Greenville Oaks. We simply choose to honor our heritage of a cappella singing in Churches of Christ.

Q: How can I get a CD recording of sermons?

A: Order forms are available at the control booth at the back of the auditorium.

Q: How does the Greenville Oak church relate to other churches and denominations?

A: We value you heritage within Churches of Christ. We have chosen to emphasize what we have in common with other Christian groups rather than debate about our differences. We try to be "Christians only" and believe that no particular group is designated by God as “the only Christians.” We are non-denominational.

Q: How is your church governed? Who's in charge? How are you organized?

A: Our church is directed by elders who have been selected by the congregation as servant/leaders. Greenville Oaks is autonomous and does not report to any central or district headquarters.

Q:  How should I address Keith and the rest of the ministerial staff?

A: The ministerial staff prefers to be called by their first names. They prefer not to be addressed as "Reverend," and the term "Pastor" applies to the elders.
